These tiles will cover
the
area behind the woodstove in the kitchen of our someday-house on Lopez
Island. I painted the blue transparent glaze on bisque fired tiles with
a fine water color brush. The designs came mostly from my photographs
and
represent scenes from our family visits to Lopez and from other family
history and activities. The general design is based on 16th century
Dutch
tiles, which also depicted scenes from everyday life. Click on each
tile
